Medical Authority, Emergency Care & Medication Consent

(To be acknowledged and signed by parent/guardian for all participants under 18 years in the Waiver Section in the registration page)

1. Acknowledgement of Risk & Emergency Medical Authority

I/We acknowledge that participation in ACT Cuboree 2026 involves inherent and obvious outdoor and camping risks. In the event of any illness, accident, or emergency, I/we authorise the designated First Aiders, Line Leaders, and authorised representatives of The Scout Association of Australia (ACT Branch / NSW Branch):

• To administer necessary first aid and urgent medical care.

• To obtain emergency medical treatment as deemed expedient (including ambulance transport, dental, nursing, hospital care, and the administration of anaesthetics or blood transfusions as recommended by qualified medical practitioners).

• I/We agree to pay on demand all medical, dental, hospital, and ambulance fees incurred that are not otherwise covered by Medicare or Association insurance policies.

2. Explicit Consent for Paracetamol Administration

I/We give explicit permission for the Unit First Aider or designated Camp Leader to administer standard pharmacy-grade Paracetamol to my child if they develop a fever, pain, or mild illness during the event.

• Paracetamol will be administered strictly according to the manufacturer’s packaging guidelines (based on the child's age and weight) or specific directions logged in OLEMS.

• I confirm that my child has no known allergies or adverse reactions to paracetamol (unless explicitly detailed in their medical profile).

• I understand and agree that this care is provided in good faith as part of the Leaders’ duty of care, and I release the leaders and the Association from liability regarding standard, approved doses administered in accordance with these instructions.
