Dear Parents and Caregivers of 1st Cherrybrook Cubs,
As we race towards the ACT Cuboree, we are organising a Shakedown camp. This camp is mandatory for cubs/scouts/leaders who will be attending the ACT Cuboree but is also open to the wider cub unit. All will gain a fun camping experience and work towards their camping, camper, bushcraft and bushwalking badges.
This camp has several objectives. Firstly, to get all cubs multi-night camping experience but also to test the equipment and set up before we head off to ACT Cuboree.
Please see the attached packing list for information on what to bring to this camp. Please note that it is August and the weather is cold at night. Ensure that your cub/scout attends with warm clothing and a warm sleeping bag (not a lightweight summer sleeping bag) along with wet weather gear (e.g. raincoat) for if there is rain.
