Hi Parents! πŸ‘‹

Hold onto your hats β€” next Tuesday is going to be a cracker of a Scout night! πŸŒƒβœ¨

We're ditching the Hall and taking the troop into the city for Vivid Sydney. Picture it: harbour lights dancing on the water, buildings turned into giant works of art, the whole city glowing β€” and our Scouts walking the Light Walk together as a unit. It's the kind of night they'll be talking about for ages, and I cannot wait to share it with them.

πŸ—’οΈ The plan at a glance:

  • Date: Tuesday 26 May 2026
  • Meet: Cherrybrook Metro Station, 6:30 pm sharp β€” we travel in as one group
  • Pick-up: Cherrybrook Metro Station, around 9:30 pm (I'll WhatsApp the group the moment we're on the return train so you've got loads of notice)
  • Cost: Free β€” no event fee. πŸŽ‰

πŸ‘• Dress code β€” full Scout uniform, no exceptions:

This is an official Scout activity in one of the busiest public events of the year, so every Scout turns up in full Scout uniform, scarf included. It keeps us visible as a group in the Vivid crowds, it keeps everyone safer, and it's how we proudly fly the flag for 1st Cherrybrook out and about. To put it simply: no scarf, no uniform, no go. A quick check at home before you leave saves any tears at the train station. πŸ‘

πŸŽ’ What every Scout MUST bring:

  • Full Scout uniform + scarf
  • Water bottle
  • Windbreaker or rain coat (Sydney evenings turn quickly β€” trust me!)
  • Small hiking pack so they can carry it all hands-free
  • Opal card (or linked phone/card) with enough balance for the return trip

These items aren't a wish-list they're the kit that makes the night safe, comfortable and fun. If a Scout rocks up missing any of the above, I'm genuinely sorry but I won't be able to take them along on the night. A two-minute gear check before you leave home is all it takesΒ  thank you so much for backing me up on this! πŸ™

πŸš— Drop-off & pick-up β€” a friendly nudge:

  • Please have your Scout at Cherrybrook Metro by 6:30 pm. Trains wait for no one, and a prompt start means a smooth night for the whole group.
  • For pick-up, watch your phone β€” I'll WhatsApp the group the moment we're on the return train so you'll know exactly when to roll up (around 9:30 pm).
  • Our Leaders are volunteers giving their evening so the Scouts can have adventures like this β€” being on time at both ends is the best thank-you you can give us, and means we can get home to our own families too. πŸ’™

βœ… Don't forget to RSVP!

To help me plan numbers and Leader-to-Scout ratios, please register your Scout on ScoutHub before Sunday 24 May. Jump in, find the Vivid Sydney event under our section, and hit attend (or decline if your Scout can't make it).

Any questions at all β€” reply to this email or send me a message on WhatsApp. Always happy to chat.

Bring on Tuesday β€” this is going to be a night to remember! βœ¨πŸŒ‰
