Wizards and Witches Camp
Event information
Dear Parents and Caregivers of 1st Cherrybrook Cub and Joey Scout 'Wizards and Witches',
Your cub leadership skills, cub and joey imagination and ability to cram as much fun as possible into two nights and days will be tested in the ultimate 'Wizards and Witches' magic camp!
A magic elixir will sort them into their "House" where they will make their hat, scarf, wand and broom. They will learn to cast spells (learn to bend a metal spoon by magic), send secret messages with invisible ink, make potions, play quidditch and visit a forest glade. There is cub-style archery, and a feast with floating candles, butterbeer, and cauldron cakes.
On Friday night we will be camping in dorms and if the weather is improved we will be in tents for the Saturday night. We will have electricity, warm showers, kitchen and dormitory access.
We strongly encourage all cubs to attend, particularly if they would like to go to the ACT Cuboree (5 night camp with over 1000 cubs present) at the beginning of October. The camp is open to all cubs and scouts who are invested at the time of the camp.
The camp fee is currently $110 all included for the weekend, which includes all food, beverages, the campsite and all activities for the weekend.
Camps are a great way for cubs and joeys to let off steam and be themselves in a safe and controlled environment, to bind closer to their fellow cubs / joeys and to earn more badgework. This is a weekend away from screens and devices full of mystery and adventure and we hope to see them all there.
Please see the packing list and details of how to get to Camp Ku-ring-gai in the attached document.
